From The beginning

NIGHTBRAIN is Quincy’s band, and a champion of the High Sierra spirit. Between the members, NIGHTBRAIN has collectively attended HSMF over 75 times. Beginning as two friends exploring music therapy in a cabin in the woods, NIGHTBRAIN has grown to a six piece project reveling in ingenuity and a pocket groove only available to those few musicians who have collaborated since high school. NIGHTBRAIN experiments with mood and genre, blending groove, rock, Latin and synth psychedelia.

In December, the band released its debut album, “In Daylight” — an authentic expression of emotion and sound that has ushered the band out of the forest and onto stages in front of delighted audiences in San Francisco, Sacramento, Reno, Nevada county, and of course Plumas County, home of the west coast’s most loyal fanbase.

Last July, NIGHTBRAIN teamed up with local businesses and organized a High Sierra Music Festival kickoff party in downtown Quincy. With 8 local bands and over 400 attendees, NIGHTBRAIN was proud to spark the High Sierra spirit in the hometown of HSMF. NIGHTBRAIN will continue to commune with the spirit of High Sierra, and delights at the chance of doing so from any of its stages.
